- Probably some capture artifact. The player generates mono audio, and the 32X sound hw is set up for mono.

If you only plug in one mono plug, it's not a big surprise :) - Heh, no, there are no RCA plugs involved here. It's SCART from the 32X to a Framemeister, and then HDMI to a splitter, and on to the TV and a cheap chinese HDMI capture box.
- You can here some centered static noise at the beginning of the capture though, so I doubt it's a problem of the capturing itself...
