lando, bp voting is rating-based, on asm you vote for a specific place. the latter makes for extremely high scores when there's a clear best entry in a compo, the former has less variation and (arguably) represents the opinion of the voters more accurate
er, just don't store the least significant byte and set it to zero when reading it :)
