Linux and most open source applications already work like a charm on ARM. Even if there'd be ARM Windows soon, I doubt that your favourite applications will be ported in the foreseeable future. -
by the time windows on arm is available, your favourite apps will be on arm. On android or ipad. ;) -

yeahyeah, there are still x86 and x64 versions. they can't just dispose of all the software written for it over the past 15 years. - maybe they'll have software translation to run x86 on arm? Like apple did with ppc on x86. Only on much slower CPUs.
