- Btw Shantee, you mentioned Egan's "Beyond The Whistle Test" recently. =) May I suggest you also read "The Ultimate Melody", by Arthur C. Clarke ? Similar theme, 50-smth years earlier. In fact, "Tales Of The White Hart" by Clarke is full of funny, witty, short "pub stories" like this one !
