Most scenes welcome the t-shirt wearers as long as they're cool and appreciate what the scene is about. Scenes that don't are circlejerks by definition.

A lot of oldschool games are objectively more difficult than Dark Souls. That isn't always a sign of good game design, though. Dark Souls is difficult but fair, and if you think the difficulty "gimmick" is all it has going for it, you're missing out.
Or "let's make this puzzle obtuse beyond cryptic and literally unsolvable so people will have to go out and buy an issue of Nintendo Power".
My favourite example of bullshit difficulty is Maze of Galious on the MSX. You need to find a doll to cross a pit of water because that makes sense. How do you find the doll? "HIT THE WALL WITH YOURE SWORD IF YOU WANT TO GO TO THE OPPOSITE SHORE." Only there's no indication WHICH wall, so you systemati
That's an optional puzzle, though. The game is pretty fair if you just want to play through it. It only becomes unfair if you want to reach 200% (sic) completion.

Marder's comparison of plants to anaesthetized, once-conscious animals is flawed. A better comparison would be laboratory grown meat that was never sentient to begin with.

The demoscene is corrupt to the core. Have you noticed that groups send each other "greetings" in their demos? Why is that? This whole thing reeks of collusion and we will get to the bottom of it. #DemoGate
Because something about consumer revolt and ethics. #DemoGate
"Don't piss on the subway floor" is a social norm. I'm glad most people follow that.
Demos are scheduled to go mainstream by the end of 2017. All persons not wishing to be mainstream are advised to start preparing to migrate to another subculture.
Yeah, fuck all these fake geeks with their fancy computers or their niche literary interests. I've NEVER seen one bite the head off a chicken. Buncha posers.

All these video game Kickstarters and their overblown budgets. I once made an Asteroids clone in AMOS and it didn't cost anything!
I think really "alien" aliens are easier to do effectively in literature than in (audio)visual media. Let me recommend "Blindsight" by Peter Watts and "Embassytown" by China Mieville.
That, or you could speculate that humanoids/primates are among the forms of life most likely to develop sapience. Or you could just accept it as a time-tested space opera trope and have fun with all the green/blue skinned space babes.
What about linking the RSI prods to the Kozmik account then as well, for the sake of consistency?

Whenever old artists try to be "contemporary" instead of doing what they're actually good at, the result is usually embarrassing. RE: Orbital's terrible "Beelzedub".
