msqrt: DICE & Crytek are using UD. The dumb terminal is back: physics in the cloud; the client only needs a fast renderer. UD outputs a Z-buffer. There was rasterization, raycasting and their combinations, now there's UD. -
fizzer: public knowledge. Really, Mr. Dell gave us ample time to reverse engineer his approach (with many hints): he can now patent it with a clean conscience. -
UD's different. It solves the view-dependent points' extraction problem combinatorially. No analysis, no floats, no / or *, no fixed-point arithmetic: only pure integers. I'll keep quiet now. - 2012-11-19
