Does a flawed system rushed through the design stage at a moment's notice and using standard off-the-shelf parts have power?
I thought my Atari 520 STFM had developed a fault, as it locked up with a constant beep sometimes when I turned it on, took it back to the computer shop, it was fine, and it turns out holding down the joystick fire button (or having autofire on) causes the lock-up! Bad design, indeed!
Not only that, after I sold the ST to the principal at my college, the PSU fuse blew, necessitating another trip to the computer shop!
However, my first Amiga 500 that I got at Christmas 1990 was faulty, so that balances things out :)
