GF: "Gibberlink" is not what you think BTW it is just bypassing TTS and encoding raw JSON into modem-like sounds, it has nothing to do with sending embedding vectors (it's still just text underneath) -

"raw JSON" made my morning :) -
Did the Amiga of 1985 inspire the PC world of 1995? Pre-emptive multitasking OS (Windows 95) and dedicated graphics hardware (3DFX)? Methinks so. -
Pretty sure AMIGA did not pioneer those (but probably make them popular). -
All graphics on a PC up until 3dfx came out were done by CPU, and 3dfx was a dedicated hardware alternative, very much like Agnus and Denise, and you could say that the Gravis Ultrasound was like Paula too. All much more advanced, of course. -
Unix had all this (and more) in 1985 -
I'm talking about personal home computers, bifat. Unix hardware was very expensive in 1985. -
there were all sorts of hardware accelerated things for 2D in PC graphics hardware. Just nothing standard which is why they were in practice only used by respective WIndows drivers. But it wasn't all CPU at all. -
there a lot of good podcasts about computer history, listen and learn! ... and: die Geschichte der Menstruation ist eine Geschichte voller Missverständnisse! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vwMI6uO8j1k -
Like Amiga was Jay Miner's first chipset. Yeah right. -
VGA's hardware scroll, barrel shifter & split screen were not important in demos? -
4gentE: I know it wasn't, Miner was a pioneer of that from the 1970s -

I don't recall that many demos using many hardware VGA features. Mode 13h and some Mode-X stuff were too easy and convenient, and by the tine 486/pentium came around it it was more about other stuff than banging VGA. But I am sure there were some demos that used those. -
it has the industry experts raving: https://amigaunix.com/lib/exe/fetch.php/a3000ux_born_to_run_unix_svr4.pdf -
VESA was the thing, also was easy to do hardware scroll -

This is liberalism. -
a very liberal take on liberalism -
"Everybody may have their own religious beliefs and may even speak their own language." Everybody is very grateful! -
It's called virtue signaling via defamation -
it's clearly more liberal than the labour party of albania under enver hoxha
