hot multimedia: Another Amiga bashing - just what is your issue or problem with the Amiga platforms? -
I think OCS is an amazing architecture, and Jay Miner's magnum opus. But the machine wars in general feel so funny to me as Amiga is based on 8bit Ataris and Atari ST was in turn designed by ex-Commodorians. I guess it's nice to make fun of a totem sometimes, but didn't mean to offend! -
Fair enough :) I myself have had an Atari STFM and an A500 and an A1200, so I've been in both camps, so to speak. I don't think any particular platform is better or worse (not anymore) they're all DIFFERENT and UNIQUE in their architectures, which adds to the variety! -
For me I just say I cannot stand hearing the soundchip in ST (and others where it was used) for a longer period (depends on a track too though). It is like listening to NES but has distortion lol. -
..but it had MIDI built-in (10$ saved!) ;-) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LDzG9n6FByM&list=RDLDzG9n6FByM&start_rad io=1 -
If Amiga had MIDI, it could be used as a cheapo sampler slave to the ST, right?
