it's good to be lame, so I never feel like that! Instead, I just look forward to all the other platforms all the PC people are blissfully ignoring in their creative mindset.
I hope more people will make demos from wildly different aesthetical starting points. Kinda bittersweet, but the influence of other prods is understandably very strong.
True. The untapped potential is so vast that I always feel people are willingly crippling themselves by self-censoring their "weird" demo ideas.
Being truly original seems to be almost impossible at the very least :) - so, I guess one either embraces the sources of influence and go in all the way or try to sort of hide it in plain sight. I agree with drift that just being in the moment seems to be an important factor in demos for me.
Evolving on "chaos" (as in, prototypical styles yet properly explored stemming from a new / different kind of source/viewpoint) is a very interesting approach. I always love it when somebody takes a concept and runs with it, exposing a wholly different level of the original influences.

just scrolled through mickey, some cool parts, I especially liked some of the 2D animation at lot. Feels a very stream-of-consciousness style, certainly resembling a very visual take on the imagery of an acid trip combined with content from a lot of different artists & sources synced & cut to music.
yeah it's a cool video but calling it the end is a very naive and narrow-minded view on the creativity of humans.
