Tibble Demoparty #1

category: parties [glöplog]
a friend showed up now, but think we will close and go to Syntax Error in a couple of hours when its opens, and yes #3 was kinda fail, and my release was mostly just becouse i was bored 1 in the morning, so its okay you removed it if you feel like it
as far as i understand scene.org exists to archive all demoscene related prods, removing something there just because someone thinks it's not good enough is against it's meaning.
gargaj, i am really disappointed that you deleted those files.

nosfe: sorry but that's a load of self invented crock you just posted, reason for deletion has nothing to do with "someone not thinking it's good enough".

havoc, whatever is your personal problem with bittin, i don't think that should be the basis for what is accepted to scene.org or not.
i seriously think that for archiving purposes _everything_ should be there.

Somebody holds a party, nobody turns up, and people are arguing over whether the single release should be listed on scene.org or not. Are you sure you guys have the right priorities here?

gargaj, could you please post the scene.org policy regarding what amount of visitors is required for a party to have for its productions to be archived at scene.org

nosfe, you're being an asshole. i told you i didn't ask to delete for quality reasons, so now you claim it's because i personally dislike bittin- which is also a blatant fabrication on your part. why are you doing this? i thought you were smarter than this.

I think that the amount of visitors needed for a party is some value greater than 1.

I suggest adding a new platform: "havoc, gargaj & nosfe"

Since when has it been a requirement for scene.org that the prods are party releases?
and in to the mud pit I step ...

I don't think it has been. However this release was listed under a folder in the demoparty directory, thus implying it was a demoparty whether or not you know it to be one. If the item there is a demoparty, then all is good. The people here seem to have a problem with someone just submitting their own arbitrary personal stuff into this section.

I'm not trying to render judgement against bittin or whether or not this was a real demoparty, but others seem to suggest and I think as well, for something to be defined as a party (demoparty or otherwise) you need to have at least X people for the entire duration of the event. Where X could presumably be satisfied with X > 1. (Though I am unsure if people would apply the same argument to more major established demoparties if for some reason they had a unlikely serious dip in their visitors. It seems likely they would cancel their compos due to lack of participation resulting in no official releases.)

At any rate, it seems a happy medium could be reached if bittin would like his released hosted on scene.org to have it placed under his own artist directory in the demos section or under the folder of the/a group he belongs to if he considers is a group-affiliated release. In addition perhaps an edited or posted policy for the future as to requirements of what is allowed to be archived in the demoparty section for nosfe. (or at the very least a nice promise we won't run in to "this" situation again. ;)

Also, likely, "Thank you, Captain Obvious!". You're welcome. :P
By that middle part I mean really loud music, beer, and thou is just a regular dateless (lifeless?) Friday night. That is hardly a party. ;) Though to be honest I have less life than that, as I don't bother with any of that Friday nights. :( So it goes ...
s/thou/me/ (oops)
next time - tibble party with the zx spectrum releases, for the real scene drama!!

There was me and 2 other guys on the Saturday but yeah this years edition really sucked
Maybe if you stopped doing this shit for attention (or whatever other purpose you have, I won't pretend to understand), and instead actually put some time and effort into setting up a decent lan/demoparty, maybe it wouldn't suck so much.

Just saying.

On a more positive note, if nobody noticed it yet (BY JOVE HOW?) but Outline's floppy throwing compo is gonna be like: (ノ✿ˇ◡ˇ)ノ ︵◼
