We are happy to announce our exclusive TRAVEL COST SPONSOR FUND.

Thanks to our sponsors we can offer financial help for all those demosceners, who can't efford to travel to southern France for financial reasons. This fund should make it possible for creative sceners, who plan to participate in one of our competitions.

The maximum sponsoring for your travel is limited to 200 Euros per roundtrip, which is much enough for a travel via cheap airlines from almost all regions of Europe.

- The ammount of the fund is limited, means you should apply quick, to ensure your personal sponsoring.

- Organized car trips, the sceners who share a car have priority.

- Sceners who plan to release something at Main#4 have also priority.

- If we agree to help you with trip costs, you'll have to fill some papers to ensure everything goes right.

- Our travel organization service will help you to find a comfortable and cheap travel route.

- We will arrange the tickets for you, we wont send money directly. For sure your help finding a good travel way is welcome.

We will NOT sponsor 1st class flights or 1st class TGV trips, please understand that we have to act economic to help as much sceners as possible.

If you want to apply send an email to : cybernostra ((at)) gmail.com

Ensure to provide the following informations :

- From where you plan to come ?

- Do you plan to share a car, come by train or by airplan ?

- Are you active in demoscene ?

- Do you plan to release something on the party ?

- Why you cant efford to pay the trip yourself and why we should help you ?

- Your Handle, Groups, Website etc.

So far some sponsorings from all over europe are confirmed ! You are welcome !
Ok now name me one (non-comercial) party the last 10 years that supplied such an awesome service! (exept for Main#2 and #3 for performing artists =) ) Thats the spirit.

The display of the big screen / Grande Halle /
3 different modes:

1) Low resolution on the entire surface. This is the screen as defined : 89 pixels on the height and width 960 pixels on the width . The diodes are spaced 25cm horizontally and vertically in the direction of the slope. The screen in its entirety corresponds to the format of two screens 16 / 9 side by side.

2) High resolution over an area of 20m baseline. In this central area, the screen will
resolution of 178 pixels high by 320 pixels wide, ie twice the pixels in the height and width over the entire screen. The diodes are spaced 12.5 cm horizontally and vertically in the direction of the slope. The screen in its resolution is as high as 4 / 3.

3) High and low resolution at the same time, with image "in" the image. In this case we may for example have a high resolution image different that of the low resolution image in the image.

Back to tha Roots !
huge prizes for graphism and photo competition ,
free girl for each demomaker with an entry ...

I don't get it: two 16/9 screens side by side have a 3.56 aspect ratio, whereas 960/89 gives 10.79. It's exactly the same problem as in
those specs, there's definitely something wrong with them.

yes it sounds wrong, but the pixels are not square pixels, and calculate that, this is a roof

pixel aspect ratio != screen aspect ratio in this case

Nope, still doesn't explain it. It does say that the pixels are square in the plane of the roof, so taking the slope into account should increase the aspect ratio even more (for example multiply it by sqrt(2) if the roof is tilted by 45°).
So, Main#4 doesn't allow Linux(Ubuntu) releases?

Sorry to be picky but the screen spec is still _very_ unclear to me. I strongly consider to use the whole screen but I won't because of the current spec.

If the aspect ratio is supposed to be 3.56 for the viewer (on the ground), how could it be higher (10.79) if we are in the air in front of the screen ? Even if the pixels are not squares it does not make sense.

If the pixels are not squares, because of the slope : what is the slope ? It could be useful for correcting perspective and aspect ratio for a better experience.

Some kind of scheme will definately help.

Also : how to display in 960x89 resolution ? Just open a window with that size and you'll do the cropping ?

Hey, soory but, it was general specs coming from the screen's architect and not from our tests specs for the compos.

Don't waste your time in speculation (interesting at all) and please, wait for the real display specifications on the big screen in coming days.
We are happy to announce that we can confirm the following acts for your entertainment on mainparty 4 held from 2nd to 4th october in arles - france.

Willbe / Cocoon ( France ) with his Live session.
