Just STay Atari

I guess it could work both ways....

STFM = Shut That Fucking Mouth...

But I'm not going to shut up anytime soon ;)
I want an A1200.. right now I only have an A500 and a maybe working A2000, and no way to transfer demos :_(

Damn, the thread's title makes me happy over and over again.
Knoeki: This site is your friend.
my biggest regret in 1992/3: not having enough ca$h for an Atari Falcon (had to buy that crappy A1200 instead) :D

and what IconoclaST said.

Knoeki:
CrossDOS and dms is also very helpful with that problem :P
iconoclast: If he only has 1.3 there is no crossdos in wb. I assume he would have already figured out he could read pc disks in wb in 2.04 up.
there still is erm... magicterm?! (I think that was its name). Used it to transfer ~500 Megs to my PC on a serial line.. took half a day or so :D

or just grab a cheapo PCMCIA Ethernet adaptor from eBay and hook that baby up to your LAN. Try doing that with your Falcon! (Ok, you can do it, but not very easily/cheaply) :)

ONLY AMIGAAAAAA!!!

hehe, I never owned a Falcon but sometimes I wish I had (16bit stereo...DSP..yum)
The a1200 surely wasn't terrible but let's face it: it was BAD. 8bit sound. arg. blitter speed equaled a500 ocs/ecs.. cpu should have been a 30/50Mhz... no chunky mode... naaah.
but I still like playing super stardust every now and then :)

o_O

I have yet to see an a500 with a pcmcia interface...
herme: have to agree there. The a1200 was basically a Frankenstein system botched together from old leftover 500 parts ;) not literally, but it's design was basically just a minor upgrade. the Falcon is clearly a superior hardware-wise.

but AmigaOS > TOS, by far :)

skope: exactly, which is why anyone with sense would buy an a600 instead. :) but I guess people miss that useless numeric keypad (?!)

hello: It's extremely useful in protracker for quickly selecting instruments! :)

Yes, and that utterly useless AGA chipset, too.
hello: err, the Falcon is just a crippled ST+. It was built upon an updated ST which had 16 bit data-path and the engineers managed to put a 68030 on top of this 16 bit data-path.
To be more precise, only the Videl - video chip - can access the main memory throught a 32 bit data-bus.

In other words, but the A1200 and Falcon sucks...

Btw, did you know that the Falcon prototype, the Sparrow, had a Videl supporting an 8 bit chunky mode ? But Atari decided that the 8 bit mode had to be plannar !

Kempy, daj mi znac na maila, jesli bedzie jeszcze jakies party amigowskie w PL.
skope: There's always ADF sender, but I do have CrossDOS and 1.3, mind you.
iconoclast: Yeah ADF sender is what I recomended for Knoeki. CrossDOS is built in with os 2.04 and up, and not standard in anything less, so if someone only have their 1.3 wb-disk then CrossDOS isn't really an option.
Well, you can use ADF sender long enough to put CrossDOS on a disk ;)
Well, here's my answer to this whole situation:
