I think Otto Waalkes is quite funny - he's even german and I'm danish, so I guess that comedy can cross borders quite well.

I also loved Victor Borge's stuff. He was a dane, but emigrated to the US in the middle of the 20th century - he had the ability to make both americans and danes laugh at exactly the same jokes, just by changing a little bit in the presentation. A very needful and appreciated skill, I think.

Stewart Lee, Armando Iannucci, Charlie Brooker (he used to write and do cartoons for PC Zone magazine)

I went to a Jack Dee gig, it was cool, but we were sitting in a gallery overlooking the stage, and he has a massive bald spot on the top of his head which is normally very carefully kept out of sight!

Jack Dee's early stuff at The Apollo club was class. He lost it a bit after he hit the big time, kind of like Peter Kay.

Jasper Carrott and Dave Allen are also fantastic standup acts.

I also forgot to mention Bottom as a great comedy series.

Oh and Marcus Brigstocke. This guy makes a very funny, very profound and very brave sketch on religion that is well worth watching...
