and yes. people usually have too much an excuse for an ego to not have their friends slap them on the back. Who would want to disappear in the void between parties if they're like that?

I enjoy non-party releases, but yeah ...they're rare.

What about making of Pouet a new desert and making demos BETWEEN PARTIES instead of creating insane random thread ?

@Amiga-Times it was normal that some Intros and even Demos got released between Parties....also Packdisks supported those releases, coz the swappers spread thoze packdisks with several intros/demos far around.! ...nowadays the scene is a bit lazy and all productions get a (party-)deadline to get finished...f.e. "we gotta release sth @BP,so get working.!"
...nowadayZ Intros have to be 64k or 4k or sth like that...back in Time it wasn´t like that...intros weren´t that limited (f.e.64k) ,so every group released some intro here and there.! (i guess this doesn´t apply to amiga only...lol) ...but getting back there would be a MUST normally...!!!
so,coders out there....if you achieve sth good-lookin or very-new/never-seen-before,don´t hesitate to add a logo and a scroller and release it.!!! you still could re-use that routine in an optimized and otherway-used-form later in a Big-Prod.! ;)

lotza text,but necessary,me sry.!
A demo is vain enough not to be released elsewhere than at a special event.

what gargaj said. for many a demo is more like a very well rehearsed live performance than anything else. the audience (\{stefan}) is everything, i guess.

I've have 33 releases referenced inside this database and only 6 of them were more or less released at parties (only 4 of them actually entered in some compos).

80% of releasing is the feeling you get after watching your demo at the big screen.
Vanity.
