The style of most ‘oldskool’ demos was actually newskool when they where released. Trying to emulate old techniques is not good for the progression of style in demos, it is only good for fun.

without memory,culture,what would you do?
I've made a megademo in 1989 on the atari st,i was member of the crew"v8",in"the empire"federation,at this time we were cracking and swapping everything on this comp.,we won the challenge between "bladerunners"federation....we used modem and fake calling card numbers to spray our stuff in canada,sweden,france,rfa,denmark,usa,uk etc....

You'll have to use"saint"emulator to watch it...
in"TEC"we where 2 guys,i did all the crap graphics and my friend TDS did all the code...on the main menu use arrows to change of demo screens...
I have to say that,back in the days,i didn't like megademos but we did one to proove that cracking federations were capable of making one...we did also a lot of "crackinggames" intros,what i prefered much more ,because there was creativy but also this illegal part of the game that i loved...
This is in my mind and in my culture forever,it was so great to be chased with my friend,we had great trip for quite 5 years(1985 to 1990).....
Except some crews on pc,you guys think that you are in it,but you loose half part of the game,all this demo scene comes from the cracking crews that created it(on atari xl and commodore c 64 and amstrad cpc),before shiting on the oldschool,don't forget that we where young too, but we had the balls to do a very dangerous activity(in my crew,half of us where busted)....

Oldschool is a lovely shit. I mean, it is a shit since it use to be not art, use to be ugly, but anyway, it is lovely for coders, the game of optimizing. So, I think, oldschool is cool and a shit at the same time. Yes, I'm paranoid, but I think it is not important in this thread.

Oldschool is trying to be active in a tiny obsollete, sleepy, 8bit scene at 2003, consisting of around 10-15 fans who are just scratching their balls and dreaming of the past. Sounds like CPC to me ;)
However Dbug is more oldschool than me with his Oric demos beeing the only in his newborn Oric demoscene :)

Btw,. CPC fans and sceners are not only 15 but perhaps 50, 100 or more. Around 15 is just the estimation of the supposely active demomakers on the CPC, me and Antitec had done..
