Okay, so my directX viewer likes to crash everytime it opens an .x or .fx file. I googled it and didnt get a resolution but rather got a bunch of angry people who experienced the same problem. Currently I have the April 2007 Build, anyone have a working viewer that can tell me their SDK date?

I am guessing this is happening due to the transition from DX9 to DX10, loss of DX9 support, still lotsa bugs etc, Video cards etc.

nm. I went ahead and downloaded the august release. Works like a charm now.

The .x file format for DX10 is different from DX9, right ? At least I saw it somewhere

not sure. I would be afraid to say one way or the other lest I get corrected by the code nazis.
