about the Wii ?

category: general [glöplog]
in case someone's still wondering...

"InvenSense's Joe Virginia, VP of wireless business, was kind enough to explain that the Wii MotionPlus uses multiaxis gyroscopes to sense rotational movement, and combining the MotionPlus' rotation sensing with the Wii Remote's other built-in sensors brings new gaming capabilities to Wii Sports Resort. The Wii MotionPlus has three gyroscopes to track rotational movement across all three axes in 3D space." -from gamespot

@xernobyl: You can't/won't be able to check that out anytime soon. So don't get your hopes up.

On a related note, we opened a dedicated channel for reverse engineering work that's left to be done on the Wii, join #hackmii on EFnet in case you're interested.

Phew, first port for Wii done in about day :) The devtools are a bit of a mess as of now and the SDL is really bad and limited, but on the other hand the Homebrew Channel + wiiload make coding a lot easier. Still need to test how the prod (Jenny thinks) works in widescreen.
