I didn't mean to. I'd rather have my vinyls and some 12x0s.

but yeah, I may have mistyped the bbcode :D
and THE SERIOUS PARTY GODS will rock at an unnamed party near you!
or so i heard.

DJ's playing ambient in the chillout area is perfectly right with me... as for DJ's on main stage... naaah.

DJ's pumping out shitty house/club-music while you are trying to finish a demo sucks ass. Especially when it's obnoxiously loud and annoying going on for 5 hours straight... (SE04)

Get a hotel or finish your productions first (I know, I know, we're just as bad)

If they play music which is simply recognizeable as oldschool (SID, chippy) then I think it's cool. If they play gabber, or "normal" dance stuff, I think it sucks... but that's just me, there has to be space for those who like it, they are the scene too.
Anything in demoparties is good.

I think the main point with "DJ's at demopartys" is - does it make the orgas allow non-sceners to attend the party? If yes, it sucks. Apart from the fact that is was blocking the sleeping hall, the TP5 rave sucked because tons of non-sceners went there and it was totally party-unrelated. Same for Dialogos and in partly Evoke.

The way things go for example at Breakpoint however are different: If the DJs are playing exclusively for the sceners present, that's nice. And well, if it turns out like at previous Breakpoints, where those DJs really got an insane crowd of sceners dancing togther (I was part of that crowd) than that's fucking great :)

OTOH you have to keep in mind that for small parties you usually don't get enough ppl together to break the ice and get people dancing. So I'd prefer chillout/background music at those parties - it was pretty pointless to see DJs at TUM playing loud dance music when people actually wanted to sit, chill and talk...

And I have to second PS - if you want to get your party rocking, get yourself FR guys - Yoda, Bombe and Rawstyle are by far the best DJs one can get if you really want to see the crowd grooving :)

hm, i do not concur scamp! i liked the netlabelnight at evoke2004, nice music and nice atmosphere because local youth came to peep too. I guess when it's well divided from the party, it should be ok.
