cmon legalize, now this is cheap :D

it was menat to be this way :
a thread called "pilgrimage 2005 announced"
then a thread "pilgrimage 2005 location confirmed"
then "pilgrimage 2005 delayed 20 seconds"
then "pilgrimage 2004 tickets will be available in a few weeks"
...
then "second day of pilgrimage 2005 tickets sell"
...
"pilgrimage 2005 tickets are sold no more"

the way you did is for eurowheenies XD

Mifto has leading. Legalize has a lot to learn about derailing threads in the proper and civilized manner AND with the right timing.

Yes. Derailing and lethally pouetizing manner requires a sane and civilized way of forum usage. Just think about it: Users wait for each other before posting (you can see that by the chronological order of posts - no posts collide or overtake each other), by using common image formats and hyperlinking (ever saw a pdf linked as an image? of course, noone is that uncivilized), and of course, there's always a red line, be it InerciaDemoParty or BASS.
Face it.
Pouet is civilized, neat and tidy.

drugs != love
love != penisdemos
bass != treble
Pilgrimage != Inercia Demoparty
Euroweenies != Eurowheenies

on a related note, the local scene infrastructure is important no matter how globalized the scene is due to internet. when you simply have no friends in your country/city that share the same hobby, it makes it harder to produce demos with the only feedback and interaction being pouet comments.

i come from slovakia, and nowadays i am not aware of anyone here with active interest in the scene. the demoparties have continually died off here. for the last several years a small number (small means 2-4) of slovaks visit czech demoparties like Marast, but as far as i understand besides Marshalls and MovSD they have a very similar situation and they consider not to organize another Marast party next year.

That's pretty demotivating. I mean, you need friends you can talk to about your common interests, not just guys on IRC/ICQ/e-mail (though for some this works). I somehow understand ps' feelings concerning .pt scene.
Thing is that "ppl go away from the scene" because of the whining.

gargaj: so we're supposed to take the indiference of the international scene and feel merry about it instead of captivating their attention and supporting our few active people sceners because it can upset them. oh poor lazy ass international sceners with meetings every 3 months and atleast 5 easily accesable demoparties a year, beeing so shamelessly repressed by the talentless third world country whinning outcasts. how will they ever recover from such enormous insult and battery with only shitloads of local groupmembers and national support to rekindle their interest in the scene. i am _so sorry_ for whinning about you all beeing cold hearted bitches (as oposed to naturally friendly) to active sceners outside your country. will you ever be able to forgive me?

No, I hate you portuguese bastarda who have ONE demoparty and enough interested people to fill it decently. ;)

so help del organize a decent demoparty in italy for a change you lazy bitch :) in 5 years time you can be leet like us!! having whole.. erm.. 60 people tops, and occasionaly a couple foreigners staying for a day.....
or well, you could move to switzerland and co-organize buenzli.. :P

flashp: what's stopping you from building a scene in slovakia? Seriously, if you're not finding what you want, then you can make it happen. However, you'll probably find that you have enough time to make demos or organize a demoparty and not both.
added on the 2005-06-21 20:37:16 by legalize legalize
flashgp: what about forever? okay, it's 8bit demoparty, but wtf, scene is UNITED. so it's not really wise to say there is no scene in slovakia imho.

and concerning marast, if the organizers are disappointed in this year's marast, it's only their own fault. there were over 25 foreigners (with the overall visitors being perhaps 60!) and they didn'T even bother to make english-language announces! that's one of the obvious reasons that a thing like "national scene" doesnt bring you any further, if you aren't even open for things happening on transnational level.
added on the 2005-06-21 20:52:54 by dipswitch dipswitch
dips: dont really see a corelation between caring about transnational level and having things happen on a national level.. sure having more outsiders might motivate more national people to get busy, but it shouldnt be mandatory for a party to care about foreigners to ensure a healthy national scene.. (or well, i would like it to be mandatory, but dont really see any non utopian reasons for it)
