The *REAL* and *TRUE* meaning of BASS

category: general [glöplog]
Now that I think about it, I think the Pouet/BASS phenomenon is a reflection of our deeper, darker spirit. Buried deep within our subconscious is an ancestral memory. A deep, low, resonant feeling, echoing through our soul. Bass.... bass.... basssss...

Wessyde tapped into our darker spirit, and tapped our ancestral bass memories, like Chuck D before him.

Bass is the essense of the human spirit, of the soul. Do not question the BASS, the BASS is fundamental to our human spirit.

And then all the monsters agreed that they were both cleaner and softer than they'd ever been before, so they didn't have to eat the human after all, and they all lived happily ever after. Meanwhile, BASS!

I know the *REAL* and *TRUE* meaning of BASS:

-Bass, when used as an adjective, describes tones of low frequency. Played in an ensemble/orchestra such notes are frequently used to provide a counterpoint or counter-melody, in an harmonic context either to outline or juxtapose the progression of the chords, or with percussion to underline the rhythm. In popular music the bass part usually provides harmonic and rhythmic support, usually playing the root or fifth of the chord and stressing the onbeats.

-As a noun, a bass is a musical instrument or singer with a low range.

-Bass (known as "Forte" in Japan) is a fictional video game character and the opponent of Mega Man. Bass is a brutal and self-sufficient robot obsessed in beating Mega Man and thus proving that he is the strongest one in existence.

-Bass is a name shared by many different species of popular game fish.

-Bass is the name of a former brewery and the brand name for several English beers brewed in Burton-upon-Trent. Bass is most particularly associated with their pale ale. The distinctive Red Triangle logo for Bass Pale Ale was Britain's first registered trademark.

-Dr George Bass, British naval surgeon and explorer of Australia (1771-1803)

BASS is also an obscure software library that allows demos to feature percussive soundtracks.
That is where DRUM AND BASS music style comes from.

I love Pouet. First class disinformation of the day: Bass demo library is where D 'n B comes from.
