what to do with hates / permanent thumbdowners?

category: general [glöplog]
Almost forgot, by my previous message I made it clear, if you hate me, please dislike my works. It can make you feel some power, but it's ok if it will make some haters a bit happy, I happy to make someone happy

Anyway, for any real discussion i'm reachable at lvd.mhm(at)gmail.com

No, I'd much rather have it out in the open in the court of public opinion.

Well ok, let's start from here: https://pastebin.com/khdc1b5y
The text was copied to the neutral resource and the authorship is found easily with google (just google first ten or so words in "").
Now it's out in the open and has it become more understandable for you?

And yes, automatic translation mostly makes shit out of it, don't rely on it.

lvd, why does everything need to be so complicated with you? This is the link to the original text that you copied into pastebin: http://hype.retroscene.org/blog/269.html#comment7005. I wrote it in the spur of the moment. I have no intention of deleting it because I do not say things lightly. I accused you and Alone_Coder of doing, or inciting someone else to do, something untoward at CC'2015. Specifically, a prod was submitted to the compo with the explicit aim of sabotaging that compo.

Three years down the line you did not even find it in yourself to say "I did not do it". It was so easy. Maybe you did not do it, maybe you did. I would be massively surprised if you did not know who did. The list of people who was qualified to do it is pretty short. Instead, you serially downvote my work, as if trying to prove I had a point after all.

Did you f*cked your children? Do you ever says "no i don't"?
Why on hell should I ever write any excuses to you motherfucker? Go to hell.

Nnnoo, not really? As you can imagine most of us don't speak russian.

> The list of people who was qualified to do it is pretty short.

Lame idiotic mindless lie that is. The way flash chip could be reprogrammed was shown in the official repository ZX Evolution at least from 2014 and could be found here: http://svn.zxevo.ru/filedetails.php?repname=pentevo&path=%2Fz80_soft%2Fflash_pe%2Fsource%2Fflasher.a80 -- open for everybody wishing to do it for any purpose.

That example was written by (surprisigly!) me, as well as the whole ZX Evolution as a hardware platform was created by me and CHRV.

And now somebody says that the simple task of reprogramming the flash chip is a rocket science only a man or two ever able to perform. Maybe not all sceners here are clever enough to do it, but definitely the way of reasoning like "i cant do it -- therefore only single other man could do that" shows maybe IQ 30 or less, nothing more.

So if google translated introspec's long post right there are three categories of people: the first loves to code stuff for the original zx spectrum, the second loves to code stuff for the zx spectrum enhanced (with TS Conf, etc.), and the third category that dispises the fact that the second category (zx enhanced people) codes stuff for that platform (zx enhanced). That hate seems to be so strong that someone at CC'15 send a virus disguised as a demo that broke the zx enhanced compo machine of the party. introspec believes that it is lvd who is behind this.

Seriously guys can't you just convince CC orgas to hold two different compos, one for the original zx spectrum and another for the zx enhanced? or at least find a solution to end this pointless conflict?

actually there already were two separated compos, one for non-enhanced ZX Spectrum demos and another for enhanced ones.

Did you do it though?

Does the ZX Spectrum platform category need to be subdivided?
added on the 2018-08-30 22:30:52 by xTr1m xTr1m
So the feud is between zx evo and ts-conf (that's what i've got from the translated text anyhow)?
Otherwise it seems very contraproductive to crash your own hw?
If that's the case do even the zx-enhanced platform needs to be subdivided??
How peculiar that this doesn't happen on other platforms that has evolved from their original states..
actually to correct my post and after rereading the introspec's post the conflict is not about original zx spetcrum and zx enhanced, but rather in the zx enhanced field, one category of people using zx enhanced with Base conf, and another category using zx enhanced with TS Conf.

It's literally like should the zx spectrum enhanced category need to be subdivided?
added on the 2018-08-30 22:54:05 by Defiance Defiance
Well and if that's the case and someone is upset about their hw is beeing exploited, I'd like to hear Sir Clive Sinclairs view on all of this..
Or any other engineer whos hardware has been bent to it's limits for that matter.

My point exactly. You are simply expressing opinions about my prods, just like everyone thought.

@Defiance, if you were to study the original "Should ZX Spectrum category be subdivided", you'll see that the dividing lines were pretty deep even before TS-Conf was created. However, the whole scandal in 2015 indeed came about immediately after the first proper TS-Conf demo came out: http://www.pouet.net/prod.php?which=65917. Within a month or so of the release of this demo, ZX Enhanced category was created, which included both TS-Conf and Base Conf. However, people who are against TS-Conf felt (still feel) that this decision was absolutely and utterly wrong. Of course, these very same people expressed opinion that Base Conf should be in the same category as Pentagon 128K, but let us not open this can of worms tonight...

So they are actually fighting over two different configurations (Base, TS) for a modified enhanced version of zx spectrum (ZX Evolution). The TS Configuration seems to enable more stuff to be done on the machine resulting to some people considering this as cheating.
added on the 2018-08-30 23:08:49 by Defiance Defiance
It is actually even more dramatic. Creators of Base Conf taught the creator of TS Conf the basics of hardware coding and once he learned it, he did what he wanted to do, instead of what they expected him to do.

From the prospective of Base Conf people TS Conf creator is a bit like Lucifer thrown out from Heaven. So, instead of trying to beat him in hardware coding, they chose to try to ostracise him and his hardware everywhere they could. They also labelled everyone who refused to join the ban of his hardware "the sect". I mean, like, for real. Literally, scandal of Biblical proportions.

introspec: all this is actually pretty sad, since it's mostly creativity that gets a heavy blow delivered in the end of the day.
added on the 2018-08-30 23:31:33 by Defiance Defiance
@Defiance, which is exactly the main reason why ZX Scene is so subdued nowadays. People who want to stay focussed on creating have to pretty much work in isolation. People who cannot function in this way do not function much at present.

I am very much hoping that this shitstorm will calm down. I love ZX demos and love making ZX demos. However, it is not always easy loving Spectrum at the moment.

introspec: the situation will improve hopefully, seems to be a case of people keeping an open mind and where does someone draw the lines of what's acceptable or not. :)

don't get why you're walking the extra mile to distort every sentence that i type on this thread, but yes, ofcourse there is. i'm not advocating any of the extremes, just pointing out that it's quite easy for people to start complaining about censorship once you start banning / removing things. and mods usually end up getting shit from both sides of the discussion once they are forced to mediate flamewars.
