The Baahubali movies are not only the most costly and successful Indian movies to date, they also feature some of the most ridiculous, physics defying action sequences, you'll see anywhere. =)

if you subtract this movie from any demoscene event, you'll be left with nothing but boring computerism. so be warned: do not watch this, if you have no legit amount of beer at hand and beware to not watch it, if you need to do something important the next day.

Fantastic Planet (1973)

Gandahar (1988)

(same director; animated boobs & space magic. 'planet' is the more artistic and metaphorical of the two.)

LEXX (1997)
Season 1 (4 episodes) was comedy gold.

Seasons 2 thru 4 are a different series (milking it) and the quality plummets greatly to the point of unwatchable.

The first two of the twenty-six(!) Zatoichi films.

@tomaes: If we take this topic seriously only the first Zatoichi movie should be listed here, as a sombre and dramatic jidai-geki. The 2nd movie in the series is definitely no "must see" material.
However, for lovers of old chambara in general and Zatoichi in particular, I can recommend #15 (Zatoichi's Cane Sword, 1967) and #20 (Zatoichi Meets Yojimbo, 1970) for the peculiar mix of drama and silliness, and the coop between Mifune and Shintaro in the latter. Kitano's interesting 2003 Zatoichi remake even added music to the silliness department.

...then we can ignore possibly 100% of what's being posted here. This is just a thread where people post things they've seen and liked enough to tell somebody about it.

Maybe. The second one is not too far off. The third one fails to entertain imho, although it has some neat twists and turns story-wise; oh, and it's the first in color.

I read #20 is pretty disappointing, so I only watched #22 (Zatoichi Meets the One Armed Swordsman), as it seemed to be a promising cross-over & coda for the series and while it's not exactly must-have material either (and way more violent and silly than #1 or #2), it's entertaining and decent enough in a solid spaghetti western kind of way.

If it doesn't get you with "Ahh, I get it now." or a little sniffle at the end you're a sociopathic c*nt. Suggested by my youngest.
Yes it's anime, no, it's not at all what it seems.
