Thanks for the replies :D I thought I would see much more demos about it.

break: sorta. :3 But most of the 80's demos were very distinctive. I can barely remember anything related to retro-futurism.

"Retro looking" demos are either a simulation or more likely a pastiche of actual retro demos without the hard graft of cycle timing colour splits; it'd be just as easy to start with the source material, as it were, as long as there's an understanding that what appears on screen is more often shaped by technical considerations than aesthetic choices.

Unless we're talking about aping a more general style of the 1980s, in which case flat shaded 3D, blatant product placement, explosions and a decent synth pop soundtrack should cover most of the bases...
