Tokyo Demo Fest 2012

category: parties [glöplog]
Already in Tokyo, trying to meet the deadline :D.

Does anyone at the party have a machine with win32 and compomachine-like hardware and who wouldn't mind running and testing my prod a couple of times? Developing on OSX right now, and haven't tested latest revisions on win32, feeling bit afraid that something could get broken.

Well, it will start at 2 in the morning my time . . . I guess that's a reason to party all night saturday (at a science fiction convention)
ok, this thread seems to answer my oneliner question. So the demo compo is at 8 AM CET on sunday right?

congrats to tomohiro and the whole tokyo demofest orgo team!
More pictures!

Awesome event! Had lots of fun and met new people with great passion for the demoscene. Great overall organizing, good bar with friendly staff - just awesome.

I'm pretty sure that there is a need to get a bigger place next year because the current one was quite crowded and did not have much space for tables. Also, I really hope that more people from Europe and beyond will be there then :)

A couple of things that could be improved for the sofaceners:
- English slides for the seminars. The talks can still stay japanese, but since there are more viewers on the stream than at the party, this will improve their experience
- An ambient microphone to capture the feeling of the party for the viewers on the stream
- Some more announcements in english would be nice. I pretty much got the gist and had Zavie as a translator - but it might be nice for the people at home.

Thanks again for the party!

ham:
metoikos:
Thank you!
I hope more japanese sceners go to international demo parties.

D.Fox:
Thank you very much for coming from Germany to join the party, award and feedbacks!

There are many things need to be improved to make a great demo party in TDF2012.
But I think Tokyo Demo Fest 2012 is a bit similar to a EU demo party like Breakpoint or Revision rather than previous TDF.
Some japanese people in TDF 2012 said they don't know what demo party is.
But they would understand about demo party.

Tomohiro: I'm sure they now understand what a demoparty is. And I'm also sure that they will come back next year.

Congratulation Tomohiro! It was a pleasure to see TDF2012 from the net, hope to see many more TDF to come!!!

In my place (Montreal, Canada), we start to have demoparty again - thanks to Metoikos :) - As the main coder of Quebarium, knowing there is a demoparty to come make the difference of be able to do something and the biggest awards we got is when the audience react to our demo (which make me forget all the hours I spend on it! :)
