Welcome to the age where narcisism is no longer a bad thing!

it's not narcisitic, it's self-centered :-)
Could be, yes :)

Seriously though. I am kind of curious about the motivation behind the desire to log every fart to twitter/blog. Is it the feeling that a life not blogged/twittered is a life not lived?

if a tree falls in a forest and no-one twitters it, did it really happen?

What do you mean, "no one twitters it". There isn't a thing insignificant enough not to twitter about.

rob: i was mostly against twitter for those same reasons, but i found it useful for social networking with others regarding netaudio releases (and general music making things), hacklabs stuff, datavis research/news and also keeping track of whats up with friends whom i dont meet up on irc for a chat as often as i used to. having a public global msn/irc with character limits is kind of odd, yes, and defnitly a stalker/spammer haven. but it certainly has its advantages. i found myself alot less often on msn/icq and still keeping track of whats up with the world that interests me.

my blog system sends out a brief summary of entries to twitter which sends it on to my facebook status. (yes, gentlemen that's what my spam on fb is about). so i don't exactly twit.

blog -> rss -> twitter -> facebook
What about?
blog -> rss -> twitter -> facebook -> pouet.net oneliner ;)

ps: Fair enough. I can understand the advantages for bands, (net)labels, people creating stuff, etc. Still I don't see myself ever using twitter. Or having a blog about just my daily life (yawn). Blogs about coding, progress of projects, etc are sometimes interesting though.
