Where is it???

Yesterday, I started a 486. You know,. there was something here in Germany, two times per year, clever thing, where people through away on the Strasse things that they don't need, old TVs, furniture, dolls, clothes and many other things. I got 3 PCs from that and tried to make them work with pieces of other hardware I collected (My room is a mess :). Two are working, hehe ;)

One of them is a 486 and I run Second Reality on it today. Like 5 times or so! I have watched it in the dark at 5:00 o'clock in the morning with my headphones at full. Woha!

And yes, the talk will be about the sooo hyped Second Reality. I still haven't got the same feeling from any other demo!

I am actually wondering why aren't there so well worked transitions/syncing in other demos. Am I wrong? I mean,. I remembered the first day I watched 2NDREAL with the syncing that shocked me and left me with an open mouth. At the explosion, at the descending chessboard, at the bouncing diamond, at the "Get Down" sample and more!

But it's not like a regular syncing, it's not your average boom-boom sync with the beat, it's not to just fade the screen when the next piece of music changes. I know there is some connection with the music in many demos, but not the one that gave me that feeling! And so frequently, so perfectly done. It's also not always some boom and a flash appearing the screen, but also sounds with more duration connected with effects that match. Hard to explain. It's a whole science to get that feeling. And also the transitions with sound together. I think second reality deserves it's whole name, for I still haven't got anything better at it's specific point from other demos or I can't think of something..

Can you think? Something with that kind of syncing (but in many places, very solid), but leaving you the same feeling. Perhaps some Amiga demos. I hardly see similar things..

I tried to watch other old demos today and try to understand if there is something similarly spectacular that I can't see (but 2ndreality lets you see that without having to stare carefully). I haven't watched many of them. Perhaps the demo Robotnik, because there are enough crazy transitions and places where the music really feels tight with the transition and effect! That was great..

Others? Verses, Stars and other famous demos DOESN'T have this kind of feeling, even if their music and effects and ideas rules. I have other favorite demos than 2ndreality but they are of a diferrent style. Nothing matching 2ndreal though.

Tell me some, I wanna watch and I will tell you if it's still there..

Optimus: I'm far from being a die-hard Amiga fan but I'd recommend you all Polka Brothers demos. They're unbeatable when it comes to synching with style.

I'll have to watch the Polka Brothers demo when I get my hands on a fast computer to run WinUAE. Any other suggestions?
