Sobec chose to leave us :(

category: general [glöplog]
my point is: just because someone doesnt attempt or speak out of suicide doesnt mean they're not in the state of considering it. you can never know who you help and not notice.

what loaderror said..

and also, it's not as easy as you people seem to think to just "use the scene for what it is" .. but that discussion doesn't fit here..

True. It's most definitely something that should become a topic inside the scene, but obviously outside of this thread (and bbs).

And to add: Several sceners are right now organizing trips to the funeral on Friday. A coordination wiki is WIP. Those sceners who made friends with Sobec are invited to join.

First of all ... yes sobec i gonna miss you and the personal and scene related converstations ...

Maybe its right what someone mentioned before :
"Maybe you find now what you searched for ..." I hope so ... soo much

Iam really feeling sad and bad ...

But same time, i have to mention that the scene gave me energy when i was feeling bad, when real life became crazy, scene always made me feel better, as i tried to took care about friends from the scene if they felt bad.
The scene is and was the rare place where loyality and personal values exist ...

Cause with around 20 years, i feel more than just a club of people sharing a hobby, its a bit like a second family ...

And to come back to the topic, sadly we lost one from our family.
And thats how i feel .. right now ...

Mann Tim, tat das denn wirklich Not?

@Gargaj: Nope. He wasn't at tUM. I was in contact with him in November for the last time. He was telling me he's looking forward to the barbeque at tUM and that we'll have some drinks then. We were even talking about a fun demo with music from him. He seemed quite happy in these days. Something very bad seemed to had happen ti him afterwards.

@KB: You're absolutely right. Also I think: Sure you can try to help someone who's considering suicide. But the scene can't prevent someone for doing it and it even can't solve the problems. All you can do is try to be friends with people having problems. But solving these problems...can only the person itself.

Never heard of him, as I don't mingle much outside the C64 scene (except for the Swedish general partygoers). Still, requiescat in pace and all that. It's always sad when we lose someone.

Suicide is not a solution, it is just a path to nonexistance, which is null and void - no relief from one's problems; nothing at all. Might as well keep on living in pain.

First of all, RIP Sobec and thanks for your good support and friendlyness at both TUM and Breakpoint.

Condolences to your family and close friends.

I could add a lot on this subject, but people have already written some really good stuff.
I hope that people who are having thoughts on suicide read this thread. It's a seldom outburst of true feelings from the scene community.

It is also a large set of outstretched arms that are willing to grab you - and you will be amazed how many people that would like to help, both small and large scale.

Please don't avoid beeing grabbed by someone...

RIP man...

And I think it is pretty disrespectful to say stuff like "just wait it will pass" etc etc. Ppl do what they do for a reason (and for them a valid reason). Remember, no one knows anything about how anyone else than themselves feels and experience things.

+what leia said. even though I did feel the need to say my thoughts aswell.

For those of you who knew him personly I give you my deepest condolences

RIP. Didn't know him personally that well, but it's always sad to see a scener go. Especially this way. My condolences to his family and friends.

>you just have ONE life, so don´t waste it !

How can you say who wastes his life and who doesn't? It's not yours to judge.

Those who consider suicide will certainly not do so lightly.

Also, how do you know how many lives we have? How do you know what awaits us on the other side?

>some ppl even think they would set a sign to others by commiting suicide...thats not working, atleast not towards the ppl who could change the situation(s) somehow for others still living.

A suicide usually deeply touches many people, and stays in their thoughts and hearts for a long time.

Speed: it's true the a depression (or similar mental states) needs serious treatment. However often takes somone (close) to convince the depressed that he/she needs that treatment.
