Erm, I believe I have.

Hovever, now I've had time to sober up. I am willing to concede that the main reason I feel cheated is that the software was faulty and I can't really do ANYTHING on my ST512. (I guess it would have something to do with the floppies sitting in a municipal dump for a period.).

Now a serious question.

How do I get data from my WinPC, MorphOS or Amiga to my ST512 without investing in a catweasel? On the Amiga this is easy, and can be done in a variety of ways.

Oh, and can someone enlighten me as to what "scub" is exactly. I think I've missed something.

Ordinary MSDOS format? Can I boot from one?
I'm not sure if you can write bootable ST disk images to floppy, using your PC. But you can definitely write to ST formatted disks.

I guess this has only been written 298374982734 times on 23455 forums, but here goes:

1. get a 1.44MB floppy, tape over the HD hole (or better get a real 720 floppy if you got)
2. format it as 720 on the pc
3. ready to be used on both the st and pc

evil: i don't want to talk to google today....

can you write bootable trackloaders via PC to, or only system disks?

Can I use an adf writer on my Amiga to write an ST floppy? I can't see why not.

Can someone point me in the direction of the ST system disks?

Is this even worth my bother. I HAVE a MIDI interface for my Amiga, and some kickarse software too! Bars and pipes came with one of my many second hand Amigas, and I think OctaMED (all versions except windows) rules.
this thread is proof. sceners never grow up.

eat my bugwurst!

and for god sake, the 520ST.. it's a damn silly model: 512KB is not enough for Cubase or Notator, and loading the OS from disk takes up alot of RAM too. get a 1040STf (1MB, OS completely in ROM). they should be available about the same price.

just download some cool demos and games for it.

I'm sure some ST fans here can provide links to the "must have" ST demos and games.

i can tell you right now that there is not one single Atari ST512 in your house, and I can be 100% sure without even flying to australia to see.

Master Tracks Jr. + Box + Manuals (although I can't find the box +manual at the mo., I may have thrown them out :-( whoops.), I still have the floppy, but it seems to be dead. Disksalv (Amiga) won't help (of course not).

It worked when I tested it upon purchase several years ago, but time has a way of making all your floppies into wallpaper (...a long story!)

USB in my Amiga will rock, no more floppy frustration. Can I do that on my ST? Seriously if I can then I'd like to know!
@Xeron

send your details to anakirob at syntaxparty dot org and i'll send you back a photo whith my ugly mug next to my naked ST512. (after jan 15, I'm on holiday 'till then)

You cannot be 100% sure because I am 100% sure you are wrong! OK!

If you still don't believe, then ask Ript or cTrix to confirm for you. They do not have to fly to get to my house (although it is a bit out of the way for cTrix, and Ript is moving to the outer suburbs in the new year so HURRY).

You may call me a fool, but do not call me a liar!
No need for emails. Just take a picture of your "ST512" with a piece of paper saying "Anakirob".

Let me just say for the record: You do not have an Atari ST512.
