We are quickly looking in to if it is possible to increase our planned first batch to 4000 units.

Sounds good. I hope there are a lot of those Linux geeks that love porting stuff in first 2000.

I hope, considering that they don't even have a finished article yet, that the first batch isn't crap.
I hope the same, since I bought one :D
Seeing linux working on the prototype made me confident about it. On the other hand all the work is done by the OMAP (CPU+DSP+GPU+RAM), all on the same chip. They don't have much more where to do a big fuck up. If it runs a webbrowser using wifi, opens PDFs, and plays movies that's all I want. It runs UAE: better. It runs a playstation emulator: Holy shit I need more SD cards :S

Pandora seems like vaporware to me. I mean, who'd be crazy enough to pre-order something when there aren't even any photos of any prototypes yet. Or nothing else that would actually prove the existence of such machine.

and yeah, i wouldn't call an lcd with picture coming from somewhere a prototype.

When I try to order the Pandora, I choose postal order way of payment (I don't have a credit card). And all I get is a page that asks credit card (the protx site). Why? Is it because of Apes???

And I just read that 2000 preorders were made already. I wasn't expecting so soon. Gotta hurry up!!!

xiaomega: those guys didn't make the GP32, or the GP2X. It's a different kind of project, by a totaly different team.

raimo: there are fully functional prototypes boards.
http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=L0YGgQ3S_X8 everything is connected... sure it can be fake, but would bother?

I am afraid of these plastic buggers. If someone steals it he can buy my 2000 euros.

Pandora will be shiped with twice the RAM now, aparently.

The Pandora will be a huge success and absolutely devour the competition of the DSi and the PSP.

Also, McCain will be the new president of the USA, Monkeys will star in soap operas and pigs will eventually (propelled or not) fly!

I'm looking forward to the 'pandora library' which in the end will consist out of unfinished opensource programs and a handful of emulators.
