Problem with my PC Speaker.

category: general [glöplog]

Today i ran Monotone(A PC speaker music composer), but the pc speaker started to makes a tick noise instead of beeping. Then i tried Yo! demo and also, instead of music i heard ticking.I tried even reseting my PC and it doesn't work.
Someone can tell me how i can fix this problem?

I'd guess it's the usual PC speaker bug with fast computers. Anything faster than a 486 produces this bug with the speaker. Try slowing it down, ie. pour molasses on the CPU.

well, yeah, i understood about that :)
But i still don't understand the main thing, about hiding letters with * and such, and talking about the variations of my original nickname, all of that relatively to Fairlight. i'm like o__O'. Go figure.

I have no problem with MONOTONE on my XP SP2 2.8 GHz. Sounds like shit just like it's supposed to. Perhaps it's a BIOS problem after all?

So what's up in Hungary these days? Any riots going down?

strange noises as if aliens were speaking,
little voices like hard disc rasps, coughs,
spies? paranormal intelligences?
illegal neighbours have pinched the PC?

Never happened with my computer.

Try messing with the PC Speaker volume in the volume control (I don't think that does anything, but it might on your computer), but if that doesn't work, DosBox.

has your pc speaker ever worked? maybe it's not hooked up to your motherboard right.. you could try reversing the pins but it shouldn't matter which direction you plug it in, i don't think.. and of course i'm assuming you're not on a laptop. :)

if all else fails, yeah, dosbox works.

Phoenix:It worked fine before. Also, pushing 5 or more keys at keyboard makes the beep like it should do. I have only problems with applications using PC speaker.
