You know you have been in the scene too long when...

category: general [glöplog]
When you see a movie/listen to a music that inspired a demo, you say "Hey, that's from that demo!" (It happens frequently to me that I have first seen the demo and then the movie :)

..you dig out old threads from the oh-so-oldschool pouet bbs.
You can understand every joke in the demoscene garfield thread. (Well the maybe you are Pouet addict too, because some of the inside jokes are Pouet jokes)

Your emulator folders have demos but no games at all. (It really happened to me, having megadrive/snes emulators with only demo folder and no game/roms folders at specific periods)

...Whenever you use the imaginary word "graphician" instead of graphic artist or designer.

... The birth date of the most others are after 1990, or more likely 1991, the same year you entered the demoscene.

so true :)

You know you've been in the scene too long when ...

... instead of blaming delays in releasing new deoms on being 'lazy' you now blame them on 'having a family'

When you realise that trippy, swirly visuals not only fail utterly to hypnotise you the way they do ordinary people, they actually seem quite slow and simple compared to what you are used to.
...when you stiil own your party T-shirts from the parties you visited back in the early 90's. Oh, and when you're very proud to wear your Chuck Norris T-shirt or Breakpoint T-shirt with some peoples daring to ask:
"oh, I don't know this music festival, what kind is it?"
- hm, well, it's all about BASS!

I tend to like random-errors, it usually hints me about that its actually ray traced and not perfect linear.

- When you remember an Optimus e-mail about a new and great website about demoscene you should visit: pouët.

- You knew your best friend (and now your bussiness partner) because he was demoscener.

- You managed to make your speccy 48k work again in 2001 just to code a fire effect.

- You remember buying Amiga floppys with demos by mail in the early 90s.

-When you hear Hollowman go on about his insane ideas how nazis ruled the scene while the commies fought of their west coast. And you respond:

So, you were THE guy buying demos? :p

... when you received so much snail-mail (the real one!) with many Amiga floppies only contening DEMOS and MODULES that you had to rent a P.O. box at the local post office ;p (at the peak, I received something like 15/20 letters a day and I was not supposed to be a swapper at all... )
