It's a tool that, much like dnload, bold, etc., strips away a large chunk of unnecessary ELF headers by working around and replacing a part of the dynamic linking process. The difference between the other two and this one is that it actually works (unlike bold, which died due to bit rot), and uses a few more slightly less standard-compliant tricks (unlike dnload, which also needs to work on FreeBSD).
There are probably some compatibility bugs - please tell us if you find one!
