yeah!! I really liked it, nice models, beautiful textures and really good music!

Yes, must-watcher with nice effects. Also lovely tunnels I think.
rulez added on the 2003-03-24 00:48:25 by Marisa Marisa
eye-punishing colorscheme, cheesy effects mostly (come on, free-directional planes.. some nice concepts here and there), and an utmost pathetic clone of the lit tunnel as featured in a certain mfx 64kb. horrible music by the way, "chipguitars" :(

what's up with the end? it stopped rather fast here .. other than that, it's neat

Last one - is that a promise guys? :)

Wow, let's see... A chiptune, 'phong'-shaded knotted torii, some perspective textured planes, and some tunnels... In 1996 this definitely would have rocked... :)

Seriously though, it's quite enjoyable to watch and listen to... I liked the first part... You think "Damn this progress bar is ugly", then it turns out to be the background... then you think "Damn this is an ancient cracktro"... and then it starts :)

excellent work as usual. many props to replay and dubmood and the rest of the razordemo team for another great intro. lets hope a cracktro does stem from this production. don't player hate congradulate!

Not bad, but not good. We were was a much better prod. I would like an option between "is ok" and "rulez" to vote it, but since it is not, just a pigface... sorry guys!

hmmm strange concept...
but finally it's a nice mix between oldschool and newschool (not talking about the first part and the in-parts, but all the effects)
only the hardcore music is not good, the slow part sounds weird...

btw, great work!
rulez added on the 2003-03-24 02:12:29 by spengler spengler
Decent enough to be worth a watch. The opening and closing 'cracktro' was a nice touch. But the texturing had far too many black/dark patches. This made some details lose a bit of oomf.

And I'm beginning to become irritated by zoomed bit-map fonts. Filtered text pixels are ugly. I'd personally prefer the use of vector fonts, which is a very real possibility these days, as proven by Noice. (And probably some others...)

Chip music is nice.

Very entertaining intro with an overall good feeling. But I can't see the closing 'cracktro'. Just a very sudden ending (like dalezy wrote).
added on the 2003-03-24 03:21:45 by Crest Crest
Good opening sequence. Dunno about the abrupt ending (crash? deadline?). Liked the music too.

Nice looking, nothing too special though, but it's enjoyable. The music is the greatest part in this intro. I like it.

btw,a fter the first "cracktro scene" switching to real intro part, i almost got heart attack :) (so quick switch and my headphones were in full volumes)

Shadez: Same here. Gave me such a fright!

But a very nice intro with some nice touches of oldschool design. The music is also worth a mention for its originality. Good work all round!

Fixed Version
Sorry for the bugs, i finished the intro at 6am the friday before the party... (stupid cut and paste code)
There are still some troubles on particles with Radeon (directx+ati==sux), so if someone knows a tricks to fix the point sprites, thx
added on the 2003-03-24 19:34:51 by replay replay
Um, there were no bugs on my Radeon, and if you think "directx+ati == sux" then you could contact their driver people, maybe.

This intro featured some okay fx (like the one in the screenshot) but the rest was really mind-numbingly clichéd. I mean, planes with torus knots floating on top of them were already considered pretty risky when "Please the cookie thing" got released, and that's 3 years old. So, no innovation then.
sucks added on the 2003-03-24 19:50:35 by sagacity sagacity
Oh, and anyone claiming planes + torus knots are cool because they are "oldskool" and I don't understand that, please go away.
added on the 2003-03-24 19:51:10 by sagacity sagacity
not bad, but not great either
added on the 2003-03-24 20:03:59 by legalize legalize
okayish intro, but nothing special.

replay: ati's drivers are near-reference level when it comes to directx. before you complain, always check whether it works correctly with the reference rasterizer - and when it doesn't, it's either your current drivers or, most likely, your code that is wrong.

Ok, the ususal "summary" goes here:

bad stuff:
- as said, chipmusic vs disto-guitars didn't really fit well. (drop the chips next time :)
- some very coder colors
- the "hair" part wasn't really nifty either
- camera-movements managed to show everything, _except_ the effect.
(- eventho i read the posts above, the change scared the fuck out of me >:)

but besides that i think it's a nice intro.
rulez added on the 2003-03-25 01:35:09 by Gargaj Gargaj
Sorry, but I think it was hard to find good stuff in this one... Perhaps it was ok compared to "oldschool" stuff..

The purple tunnel with the white "portals" was nice though. Clean and fresh. But otherwise, colors were mixed in the most awful ways!

Music was beyond suck-dimension X. As Gargaj said - chip music don't mix with distorted guitars...

Together with Bits Salad (1? The white one), the only Razor 1911 productions I've liked so far. The 'real' music was cool... I have no problems running it with an ATI Mobility M4 :D I'm lucky.

6 years too late ...
the main music is good!
nice tune
added on the 2004-02-15 05:39:56 by coma coma
Hohum, a slightly-above-average intro, with decent music. The main thing going for it is the opening loading/cractro sequence (which I must admit, almost made me fall off of my chair and gave me a heart attack). However, the tunnel/ball effect was rather ugly and painful to watch (as was the general color scheme). It would have been more pleasent had the tunnel/light effect been accompanied by a halo/alpha blended light-path trajectory in a second rendering pass...
Anyways, this intro is a lot better than stuff that the (new)Razor 1911 has previously churned out

Just my two cents.
