PulkoMandy, prod used to create vbScript and use speech API. not bad, but stupid.
I liked it a bit. Ok,. needs windows to call the speech engine. But it's much clearer than the javascript edition (but I don't know the techniques between the js edition, maybe it's not using a ready library)
I wouldn't really call this a speech synth as it does not do much of that but funny idea nonetheless.
Bugo the Cat: if by the JS edition you are talking about this one, then it is basically a crazy ass optimized version of this tiny Formant based speech synth. So nope, no ready libraries or dependencies needed. It works in any browser that supports HTML5 Audio element and WAVE files.
