Not avantgarde, it adds scanline lookup to Kaktus' part in NS MD 3 almost a year before. Maybe meant as in experimental? It is a development.
But the effect is not refined, messy and difficult to enjoy, and the music must be there just as punishment for the viewer's sins, I'm fairly sure. :D
