It's cool but I consider it cheating to release it as bootblock. I could have released a 256 bytes twister when the 'Twister wars' ;) were still going on if I would have released it as bootblock but I refused to do so.

Stingray: too bad demos are not about cheat... oh wait...

Still the A.R.B. eh? :D Anyway, guess why I thumbed it up. :)

Bruno Brunosen & Bronko Bronkowitch love it!

StingRay: I don't think it would have been any bigger as an executable. The executable overhead goes instead of the bootblock header and boot code. It is not as if it is particularly crammed anyway. It is not even compressed. :)

Blueberry: If there's the complete bootcode (the dos.lib stuff etc.) then of course the exe won't be smaller. I just thought you released it as bootblock because it didn't fit in 1024-32-4 bytes. :) But apparently that's not the case so here's another thumb for you:

It's really tricky to pack an Amiga bootblock efficiently anyway.

Download and install the latest WinUAE, associate .dms files with it and open the .dms file. Press Ctrl+F12 to switch to fullscreen.

It was better than I was expected. First it's an ECS intro and the fullscreen effect is very cool and good speed. There is some kind of buzzing music in it too. All in 1k.

A 1k intro which ACTUALLY RUNS on both OCS & AGA machines is thumbworthy on its own. That it has a pleasing visual effect and crazy, noisy sound is a bonus.

Oh, and another thumb for using the full overscan.

I would make this the bootblock to all my AmigaDOS floppies, just be sure to kill the sound once it's booted.

It's not the same as the real thing. It just does not look right. The colours, the frame rate, the aspect ratio. ALL WRONG, that's why we insist on captures from real HW.

Isnt that abit double standard? If you are so into getting the colours, framerate...etc accurate watch it on REAL hardware. UAE is better than most video captures imo.
