glöpwhorez strike again. (platform is pocketpc and it wasn't just sonik)
The demo is nice and stylish. worked nicely in the compo but afterwards seemed a bit rushed. the intel opengl es accelerator in the dell axim whatever sucked (nothing surprising there) so the framerate was jerky (slower than in the matt current gba demo 16Mhz versus 600+Mhz:)

I still haven't relocated my ass after the soundtrack and design of this one started kicking them away from the party place. It did seem a little bit unfinished though, perhaps we can expect an even better final version?
rulez added on the 2005-07-31 17:45:34 by break break
dodke, you're right but not complitely. yes it's pocket pc, but about the authorship, results says that the prod done by person "The Rocket" from "Sonique Clique". i don't know where i can get the second group. sorry

Some info: actually the demo is done by (the) Rocket AND Sonik. Rocket is a company working with Symbian-based mobile devices (www.rocket.fi). The coders and other guys just happen to be scene dudes as well. The GBA ASM 05 demo from Matt Current was also done by Rocket guys (ranked 2nd).

The demo itself is rushed like you say; it was done completely in 5 days from scratch, so there are many thing to be fixed and polished. XWD (the coder) ported the engine and Moppi's demopaja for the PocketPC so not too much time was left for actually coding new stuff. But it was good enough for the party crowd so we're not complaining ;-)

Updated version coming up next week or so...

Stylish, but also my least favourite in the mobile demo compo. I don't know, there's something about PocketPC prods I don't like.. too much processing power compared to crappy mobile phones or something. Nothing personal :)
added on the 2005-08-01 02:07:40 by Preacher Preacher
murk, aha, that is the truth. then asm results are wrong too. and also: prod archive doesn't contain any nfo/diz file, where the authors can describe who they are, and which platform they used. so the demo was added as Sonique's for Windows [Mobile]. sorry but i just tried to be exact.

anyway, the prod is awesome.

BTW When is the Win32-port coming out? :)
added on the 2005-08-01 10:49:15 by kurli kurli
The Winedoze port should be released at the same time as the final release version on PocketPC. HOPEFULLY soon (famous last words... ;)

Try harder, I thought the demo was too damn slow even when i assumed it was software rendered, now when I know it has a gpu I'll just thumb it down.

It looked nice, but the framerate ruined everything.

being a rushed is not a reason to give a prod tu. if there is no way to stretch pocketpc's limits and produce smoother stuff, well, then it's a shit of a platform (and i bet there is, just see the trouble to avoid using too highly abstracted api crap). some scenes are ok but it's a bland mix as a whole.

My PocketPC (WM2003SE Xscale 255) was missing the libGLES_CL.dll. After copying that to the demos directory I get a "Unable to load file" error.
Really sad. Would like to run it on the real thing...

Looked around in the disassembly, but can't see why it wouldn't load the pocket43.dmo file...
